Hi y'all! I left my archives job in 2021 and have no idea what 2022 will look like archives-wise #snaprt

@SNAP_Section A5: Pros: some jobs require it, & employers can pay for it. Supplements education if only a few classes available in degree program.
Cons: a lot of jobs don’t require it. A lot of time & $ sunk into them, more time & $ sunk into maintaining them in some cases. #snaprt
@SNAP_Section A4: Both roles are super important! While students gain the theory & some hands-on experience in the classroom, practicums are where students will learn the most about how to work in an archives setting. Mainly that theories are guidelines in decision making. #snaprt
@SNAP_Section A2: Reason these were helpful is that I have encountered these in my job, or at least give an understanding to how software and apps work, for example. #snaprt
@SNAP_Section A2: Definitely the archives & records management class I took, but also the ones about cataloging & metadata, digital libraries, research methods, collection development, & info systems, database creation/management. #snaprt
