🇺🇸Today we honor a true American hero: Marine Corporal John R. Stalvey, who was just 22 years old when he made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Cpl. Stalvey was part of the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, in 2005, during intense combat operations in Iraq as part of Operation Iron Fist in the town of Karabilah, Cpl. Stalvey was killed in action 🕊️when the Humvee he was driving struck an improvised explosive device. As a dedicated IED trainer in his company, he had been instrumental in teaching his fellow Marines about enemy tactics and how to detect and avoid these deadly threats—skills that undoubtedly saved lives even as he faced the peril himself.
