We’ve spoken a lot about getting tested, and we’ve spoken a lot about how and why it’s important, but prevention is always better than cure. 🧐
Let’s chat about STI prevention and what you can do to protect your chap! 🛡️

STDs Can Be Transmitted Through Oral Sex.
#STDfacts
Women are more susceptible to Sexually transmitted Diseases than men. This is because of the anatomy of their reproductive organ.

Ship design in STD could have made sense if they'd included something that looked vaguely like the era they're supposed to be in. The spore drive ships could look different, the Shenzhou was old, but the rest of the ships, at least a few, should have had the TOS vibe. #STDFacts
The Short Treks made it worse, with an Enterprise crew member taking command of a ship that gets destroyed by tribbles thanks to a crew member altering them to have that dangerous reproduction rate that Kirk later encountered … and yet was somehow unaware of … #STDFacts
Captain Lorca has a tribble in his office … even though no Federation folks from Deep Space Station K7 or the Enterprise had any idea what a tribble was a few year's later. Not to mention their inherently "dangerous" nature …#STDFacts
Lots of things introduced and seemingly abandoned in early STD. Tilly refers to her "special needs" (apparently allergies). Section 31 visibly on board. Too bad the holograms didn't disappear as quickly as the "breath scan" locks. #STDFacts
In STD Burnham is sentenced to imprisonment for life. Just a few year's later doesn't TOS tell us that the Federation uses mental rehabilitation rather than prison? TOS also tells us that the only remaining death penalty is visiting Talos IV- STD will ignore that in S2. #STDFacts
At some point Trek moved from depicting phasers as continuous beams towards Star Wars style bolts. Even though STD is literally sandwiched between two episodes of TOS, where phasers are firmly in the continuous beam camp, it completely goes Wars over Trek in it's style. #STDFacts

STD1.2 All 24 klingon houses arrive. None of them are familiar or make sense for the evolution of klingon design between ENT & TOS. None have klingons that look like any we've seen before or after. This is where they could have made STD klingons make sense. But ... no. #STDFacts

STD1.1 "from then on, until formal relations were established, whenever the Vulcans encountered Klingons, they fired first." No. No one who knows anything about Star Trek, or Vulcans, would write this or think it's remotely reasonable or possible for the canon. #STDFacts
STD1.1 Michael Burnham tries to convince Georgiou and Admiral that the only endgame with the Klingons is battle. Burnham asks her if she is thinking like a diplomat or a soldier. Gene Roddenberry would reject this as Star Trek. Which speaks to whether it can be canon... #STDFacts
And … one hologram can rest on the furniture of another's office. What are they doing back in their own office? Squatting? Why does he apparently see her room, and she only sees him in hers? #STDFacts

Putting hologram communications into STD was be like putting cell phones in Leave it to Beaver. Didn't have them in Enterprise, The Cage or subsequent TOS … never used "again" until DS9 and then Picard. #STDFacts

Plenty of screens. But gotta show that hologram off. Even though starships didn't use them before or since … until 130 years or so later in Picard … #STDFacts So again STD expects us to buy that untenable progression from what we saw in The Cage, to STD, then to TOS.

The Klingon torchbearer that Michael kills in STD 1.1 is named Rejac, pronounced very (too) similarly to Redjac, who was the alien once known on Earth as Jack the Ripper. You'd think a writing staff who knew Star Trek would avoid a character name that similar … #STDFacts
2/2 And then, after we had known Spock for over 20 years, he suddenly had a half-brother we'd never seen. Somehow the STD producers thought Star Trek V went so well we should give him yet another undiscovered sibling? That was never before mentioned? #STDFacts
The STD creators are astonishingly tone deaf about Star Trek's past. The first change in Klingon appearance was an issue for decades, finally explained in ENT. Did they really think people would accept another major change without explanation? 1/2 #STDFacts
Meanwhile, Georgiou mentions that "few" have seen a Klingon in 100 years, which roughly fits the gap between ENT and STD. But roughly 40 years later, Spock would refer to "70 years of unrelenting hostility" between Klingons and the Federation … #STDFacts
