اجتمع كبار القادة العسكريين من الدول العاملة ضمن اطار التحالف الدولي ضد داعش في مملكة البحرين لحضور مؤتمر قادة القوات المشتركة الذي استضافته القيادة المركزية الأمريكية (سنتكوم) في الأول والثاني من فبراير / شباط.
يوفر مؤتمر قادة القوات المشتركة منتدى لرؤساء العمليات المشتركة من أسبانيا والدنمارك والنرويج وايطاليا وأستراليا وألمانيا وبريطانيا وبلجيكا وفرنسا وكندا ونيوزيلندا وهولندا والقيادة المركزية الأمريكية لمناقشة التقدم الذي تم احرازه في الحملة العالمية لدحر داعش وحالة التنظيم الإرهابي على مستوى العالم.
وضع الاجتماع الهامشي لقمة الناتو في ويلز عام 2014 إطار العمل لقوات مكافحة داعش في العراق وسورية بمشاركة 13 دولة من أعضاء التحالف. واليوم، يضم التحالف الدولي ضد داعش 87 عضواً من مختلف دول العالم، يعملون على تقويض قدرات التنظيم وضمان هزيمته الدائمة، بما في ذلك تفكيك شبكاته، ومنع تدفق المقاتلين الإرهابيين الأجانب عبر الحدود، ودعم الاستقرار الإقليمي. وفي إطار دعم حملة هزيمة داعش، تُقدم قوة المهام المشتركة – عملية العزم الصلب (CJTF-OIR) المشورة والمساعدة وتمكين القوات الشريكة، بالإضافة إلى توفير قدرات عملياتية متخصصة. ومع انتقال المهمة الحالية، يواصل التحالف التزامه بضمان مستقبل آمن ومستقر وذي سيادة للعراق.
بالإضافة إلى حملة هزيمة داعش، ناقش القادة أيضًا تطورات الوضع في سورية، ووقف الأعمال العدائية بين إسرائيل وحزب الله في لبنان، ووقف إطلاق النار في غزة، وآخر المستجدات بشأن الحوثيين المدعومين من إيران والبحر الأحمر.
وقال الجنرال كوريلا: "يساهم شركاؤنا في التحالف بشكل كبير يومياً في تعزيز قدرتنا القتالية ضد تنظيم داعش. ومن خلال مراكز العمليات المشتركة، والتدريبات، وشراكاتنا، أحرزنا تقدماً مستمراً في الحملة العالمية لدحر داعش. لكن لا يزال هناك المزيد من العمل، ويعد مؤتمر قادة القوات المشتركة منتدى رئيسي لمواصلة تعزيز جهودنا."
