#ThrowbackUniformThursday- The Navy Aviation Working Green uniform was introduced in 1917 and briefly discontinued before a modified version was authorized in 1925. It fell out of favor due to expense and the fact that it was "hot as hell." It was phased out on Jan 1, 2011

#ThrowbackUniformThursday - Some thought the 1970's Navy Summer White/Blue "salt and pepper" uniform was sharp and practical. Others thought it made sailors look like airline pilots or "Jamaican policemen." The uniform was discontinued in 1983.
