🇮🇱🇸🇦🇦🇪🇺🇸 MBS and MBZ Bought Trump Through Kushner's Secret Bank Accounts Jared Kushner’s hacked iPhone opened a window into secret money talks with Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ). That is the story in a Vanity Fair excerpt from Princes and Thieves. The excerpt says Kushner promised to push their agendas with Trump in exchange for their participation in a secret fund. The two royals reportedly discussed contributions above $10 billion. The excerpt says at least $2 billion ultimately went into accounts for Kushner. Dutch intelligence reportedly hacked the phone and found information about secret financial transactions. The excerpt points to more than $700 million in transfers. One UAE-linked account held hundreds of millions of dollars, and money moved from it to various individuals. The investigation described in the excerpt says two accounts linked to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Israel held about $2 billion in total. The excerpt says those accounts helped finance political and diplomatic operations in West Asia and potentially benefited foreign leaders. The excerpt puts a price tag on access at the highest level. The larger question is what those accounts were really financing. The Ethiopia-UAE (Sharjah) Trade and Investment Forum opened today in Addis Ababa under the theme “Fostering New Partnerships and Driving the Future Together,” bringing together 19 Emirati delegates representing 10 companies and more than 140 Ethiopian business representatives. In his keynote address, State Minister of Industry, Hassan Mohammed, highlighted Ethiopia’s natural resources, youthful workforce and competitive labor costs, inviting Emirati businesses to invest in local manufacturing and build mutually beneficial industrial partnerships. Ambassador Dewano Kedir, Director General of Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscored the strategic partnership between Ethiopia and the United Arab emirates (UAE). He noted that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, both nations continue to share a strong commitment to expanding private-sector partnerships and driving mutual prosperity. Ambassador Dewano encouraged the delegation to use trade as a gateway to manufacturing and long-term investment. Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdulla Sultan Al Owais, on his part, highlighted the strong economic growth, diversification, and market expansion linking the two countries, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening trade and investment ties between Ethiopia and the UAE. The forum featured discussions on bilateral opportunities in agriculture, agribusiness and food security. It concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to advance future economic cooperation.

The United Nations should confront impunity, not crown it. The UAE has put forward a candidate for UN secretary-general. Its record is appalling. It has armed Sudan’s genocidal RSF militia, which has carried out mass murder and mass rape. It also stands accused of arming and financing warlords and militias in Libya and across the Middle East—empowering war criminals who rule through violence and brutal repression. It has bankrolled Trump and the dictators who crushed the Arab Spring, helping extinguish millions of people’s hopes for democracy, dignity, and freedom. Elevating a UAE candidate to UN secretary-general would not be a triumph of diplomacy. It would be a debasement of the international system: rewarding a corrupt regime accused of enabling atrocities with leadership of the very institution charged with preventing them.
