Agreed, I think caution is a factor.
Also a written exam, essay or report just needs a quick scan to quality assure. Compare that to a 30 minute video (even time-stamped) - there's an additional work and a time overhead for ABs with creative digital assessment use.

Forward thinking colleges such as @bcot use AI-freed up time to allow teachers to have breathing space to be more creative with pedagogy.
Innovation needs thinking and experimentation space - @scottdhayden and team have stressed framed AI with this benefit.

The last thing we need is gobackery to high stakes final assessment using a biro IMO.
Digital tools give us opps for far more diverse assessments such as narrated video, vlogs etc which build valuable transferable skills - exams don't.
