**New York Child Advocates** This week Congress will be debating what to include in the next #COVID package; it should include the bipartisan Supporting Foster Youth and Families through the Pandemic Act (HR 7947). NY delegation: stand with foster youth! #UpChaffee #ChildWelfare

Youth who age out of #FosterCare depend on federal Chafee funds as a vital lifeline. It was already stretched thin before the #COVID19 crisis, but this lifeline has never been more important to help young people survive. We owe it to them to #UpChaffee. #ChildWelfareCOVID

#HigherEd often provides some level of stability for young adults transitioning our of #fostercare. But closed schools have meant instability and a loss of housing, access to food, and work study—all at once. We urge Congress to #UpChaffee and support our foster youth.

Thank you to our partners @fosterclub for highlighting how "the almost 'overnight' disappearance of family visits is worsening the isolation of foster children." Congress must #UpChaffee and provide the support our foster children need. https://t.co/4hVacioL13 #COVID19

Youth in #FosterCare are extremely vulnerable during this #COVID19 crisis, and food insecurity has put many older youth in crisis. We're calling on Congress to #UpChaffee and provide the financial support youth in the foster care system need to thrive: https://t.co/nD0PM47g40

While we may rely on family/friends to get us through times of crisis, many current and former #fosteryouth must instead rely on the #childwelfare system to support/protect them. That's why we're advocating to #UpChaffee + secure the support they need: https://t.co/MxkEnqMeU0
