Can we normalize not assuming that every student lives with their parents? When we say “parents are our partners” we are leaving out a huge swath of guardians that step up every day to fill in spaces that parents can’t or won’t fill. Let’s say “families are our partners.”

I love the #WordShift in this graphic. I kept seeing how "toxic positivity" wouldn't help, but never saw the genuine response that could have helped. Good stuff. ⬇️
Toxic positivity takes positive thinking to an overgeneralized extreme.
This attitude doesn't just stress the importance of optimism, it minimizes and denies any trace of human emotions that aren't strictly happy or positive.
