I’ve seen some lovely examples of a colleagues ‘role-playing’ how to tell someone they’ve got something wrong, in a kind way. Relationships are key! #WSSChatLIVE

Make sure class teachers still have some direct time with SEND students and they are not only supported by a TA #WSSChatLIVE

Include TAs as professionals, they have such an important but often undervalued role in supporting students. #WSSChatLIVE

They know what to expect and will be prepared. Now / Next, visuals, timeline for the morning / lesson. #WSSChatLIVE

@WholeSchoolSEND @mandyjwilding @mardbennett @WSSwestmids @WSSNorth #WSSChatLIVE We also use 'low arousal' approaches, i think it comes from social care, to keep the environment and approach minimal and focused on learning - reduces threat (perceived threat), superfluous cognitive load and helps keep a calm environment.

@WholeSchoolSEND @mandyjwilding @mardbennett @WSSwestmids @WSSNorth #WSSChatLIVE As long as routines are purposeful and consistent, i think it is going to differ from school to school. Having a really consistent start to every lesson i think is so helpful to lots of needs, but who doesn't benefit from a good start??
