@owenthcarey So did the same deity smite King Saul when he didN’t murder and kill enough per Samuel?
That is not The Father Jesus shows us. Wake up, read, digest, pray to Abba Father to give you clarity.
@IsraelAnderson@jeremiahcampana Thank you Israel. I went to a local church today and the Pastor tried to explain to us Obedience using the story of King Saul not killing all of his enemies. Kill em all! Sick, just sick. I am disgusted w these mental midget pastors. Abba will make all things right. Amen
Currently the only evidence of the moon landing is that there is a box that someone has that buzzes after a laser that no one can see bounces off it.
Maintaining these lies is what has destroyed actual science and innovation in America since at least 1970.
@ninjashoes@Wolfman__Matt@deepellumdog Dude. You need to state scripture and full context. Your thoughts need to be backed up. It’s a hard pill to swallow. Jesus explains all. Stop feeling things from OT and guide yourself w Jesus. Read John 100 times.
@ninjashoes You have to provide basics for your stmt:
-Scripture
-Root word transliteration
-Context not just a verse. Make a white paper
If you do it make it easy to understand because “The Fathers” were either ignorant or manipulators.
@high_in_seattle@TheRealJamesRea Only the jews originate their Elohim as the hebrew description. It was a Tetragrammaton. Greek writers used Theos which is what the book of John was written in. The writer of John coins Theos and John 8:48 cleary says “My Father (Abba) is NOT your father (Yahweh)
So if Yhwh isn't Satan, who exactly is?
Who is the one who sets himself up as God, demands worship, threatens people who refuse him, destroys his enemies, tests loyalty, accuses, kills, commands slaughter, and insists that fear is the proper response to his presence?
Because that character is sitting right there in the Bible.
And Christianity calls him “God.”
Then Jesus arrives.
And Jesus starts talking about His Father.
Abba.
A Father who gives bread, not stones.
A Father who gives fish, not snakes.
A Father who makes the sun rise on the evil and the good.
A Father who is kind even to the ungrateful and wicked.
A Father Jesus says NO ONE knew before Him.
That should have stopped us cold.
But Christianity did something extraordinary.
It simply declared that Jesus' Father and Yhwh were the same person.
Problem solved.
Except the TEXT does not stop being a problem just because your theology tells you it has been solved.
Read the stories.
Look at the fruit.
Yhwh demands worship.
Jesus' Father seeks children.
Yhwh repeatedly kills those who resist him.
Jesus tells us to love our enemies.
Yhwh sends destruction.
Jesus rebukes His own disciples when they want to call destruction down from heaven.
Yhwh tests people.
Jesus identifies the tester as the devil.
Yhwh is repeatedly portrayed as jealous, wrathful, violent, territorial, and obsessed with obedience.
Jesus says that if you have seen Him, you have seen the Father.
So LOOK AT JESUS.
Not the title.
Not the word “God.”
Not 1,900 years of theology designed to force every divine character in the Bible into the same identity.
Look at the behavior.
Look at the fruit.
Then ask the question Christianity does not want you asking:
If the adversary's great deception is to set himself up as God and demand worship...
what would that actually look like?
Would he show up wearing a red suit with horns and announce himself as Satan?
Or would he tell you:
“I am your God.
Fear me.
Obey me.
Worship me.
And do not question what I do.”
Maybe the greatest trick was never convincing people that Satan doesn't exist.
Maybe it was convincing them to worship him AS God.
And then putting Jesus' name on it.

@TheRealJamesRea The more I learn, I can see how these church fathers were complete morons to merge old stories with the accounts/words of Jesus. Was Marcion on to something?
Most people assume that if a text has been studied for hundreds or thousands of years, its basic meaning must already be settled.
History says otherwise.
Sometimes the text does not change at all. What changes is the context around it. New manuscripts are discovered. Lost languages are deciphered. Ancient cultures become visible. Writings from rival groups are recovered. Suddenly words, stories and ideas that once seemed obvious have to be reconsidered.
The Rosetta Stone is a famous example. Egyptian hieroglyphs had been visible for centuries, but people could not properly read them. Once the Rosetta Stone provided the missing linguistic key, an entire civilization became readable.
The same happened with cuneiform through the Behistun Inscription, and with Linear B when scholars discovered that it represented an early form of Greek. The material had been there all along. What changed was our ability to understand what we were looking at.
Sometimes the breakthrough is even more dramatic because we can already read the text - but we do not understand its world.
That is what happened with the discovery of Ugarit.
At Ras Shamra, archaeologists uncovered ancient West Semitic religious texts containing El, Baal, Asherah, divine councils, divine families, storm imagery and language closely related to the Hebrew Bible. Suddenly biblical language that had often been interpreted in isolation could be read against the religious world from which it emerged.
The words had not changed.
The CONTEXT had.
The Dead Sea Scrolls created another problem. For centuries, scholars worked primarily from much later Hebrew manuscripts. Then manuscripts around a thousand years older were discovered. They showed that the biblical text had circulated in multiple forms. In some places, the question was no longer simply, “What does this verse mean?” It became, “Which version of this verse existed first?”
Nag Hammadi did something similar for early Christianity. Many movements condemned as heretical had previously been known largely through the writings of their opponents. Then their own texts were discovered. You could finally hear both sides of the argument.
And the discovery of ancient Mesopotamian flood traditions changed how Genesis could be studied. The Noah story was no longer sitting alone. It existed within a much older world of flood narratives.
This is the principle:
NEW EVIDENCE CAN REFRAME OLD EVIDENCE.
It does not require changing the words.
Sometimes you discover the culture behind the words.
Sometimes you discover an older manuscript.
Sometimes you discover the writings of the losing side.
Sometimes you discover that a story belongs to a much larger literary tradition.
And once that happens, interpretations that seemed certain for centuries can collapse very quickly.
That is why the age of an interpretation proves almost nothing.
People can faithfully interpret the evidence available to them and still be wrong because they were missing part of the evidence.
The real question is not, “How long has this been believed?”
The question is:
What does the text look like NOW that we have more of the world around it?
