@KingsOfCon@RobBenedict@dicksp8jr You guys were tremendous in Mpls. I have not been to a SN con before, even though I have been a fan since the Mystery Spot episode. Thanks for all the incredible work and the memories.
@MarkRPellegrino The only way I can deal with things like that is to be an election judge and help with absentee voting and election days so that everyone has a chance to make their voice heard at the polls.
Wow, just had to @shareyourdiscovery. I banded this male Yellow Warbler in New Brighton, MN on 6-24-20, and knew he hatched at least in 2018. Said hello to him this morning! Come to @sciencemuseummn and see the Wings Over Water Omni to see how far he travels each year!
Said hello to an old friend yesterday! I banded this song sparrow as a hatch year bird on August 30, 2020. Will be interesting to see if the bird will stay to breed in natal region, or I've just encountered it during migration coming and going.
Was only a few degrees above freezing one of the mornings I was out doing fieldwork. I might have taken a few more moments than I needed to process wing and tail measurements on this gorgeous Fox Sparrow since it doubled as a hand warmer. #migration#sparrowsrock#birds
More than one-third of the world's birds migrate and it is why we see and hear different birds in Minnesota at different times of the year. Join me for a class on the Magic of Migration October 5. https://t.co/onJCHegrvf
Banding individual birds can tell us how species use/move around in a green space like an urban park. I photographed this banded Baltimore Oriole about .4 miles from where my banding station is, within the same park. #birds#banding
I banded this Eastern Bluebird youngster as a 10 day old chick. You can see the band on right leg! Learning how to use a yield sign for a hunting perch. #birds#birding#bandbirds
I swear any time I see Green Herons, there is a wormhole nearby that just sucks me in. I have no idea how 45 minutes pass with just watching 2 fledglings learn how to catch dragonflies and look for little fish. #birding#birds#heronsrule
