The “Meritocracy Fellowship”is an experiment launched under Palantir CEO Alex Karp’s thesis that existing American universities are no longer reliable or necessary for training good workers https://t.co/J3jfFlvarx
It’s been a long week but meeting this group yesterday turned things around.
The meritocracy fellowship is really awesome when you think about it: you recruit the best and brightest HS students that are fully aligned with your values and empower them. Show them the ropes and then deploy them to solve problems and create value.
Their enthusiasm for Palantir and energy was awesome. I need to get them decked out in gear asap.
I finally had the pleasure of meeting the 1st author of this now accepted manuscript (link below)! The inestimable Hayden Cooper Stites was just accepted as an undergrad (🤯🤯🤯) to @UCSD and came to visit our lab for a day. A truly special human & and honor to work with him!
Nice way to kick off 2025! Super proud of this work that @HaydenCStites started when he was in high school!
Many thanks to @cziscience for funding our efforts to democratize access to cutting-edge imaging tools ❤️

Paper #2 out of 5 is out! A short but significant update to our original PSSR. Key updates are increased 1) accessibility via a new @napari_imaging plugin alongside far improved documentation, and 2) performance via improved crappifier and loss functions https://t.co/Tmy4JzR3AR
Just as importantly, we now have a far improved codebase, documentation, and a snazzy @napari_imaging plugin to go along with it. Check it all out here:

@napari_imaging These developments are all thanks to the brilliant @HaydenIsGaming putting in the hard work of debugging outdated code, updating the crappifiers and loss functions, and just blowing everyone's mind with his precision.
Believe it or not, Hayden just finished high school!!! 🤯🤯🤯
