For years I was an “over-understander”

I tried to understand where everyone was coming from. Made excuses. Told myself things would change. I thought it was my responsibility to accommodate.

In reality, my responsibility is: to take care of me.

Not to decode other people’s behavior.

So I’m pretty sure it’s not legal for my university to be actively discriminating against disabled students by sabotaging an existing access accommodation that was proven to be well within the University’s functional limitations prior to them deciding that it shouldn’t be.

Given that there are professors who want/need to teach remotely, and students who want/need to learn remotely, it makes no sense that universities are going out of their way to ban/discontinue remote learning.

It shouldn’t be this hard.
