couple awards don’t automatically have to go to an official romantic pairing. it can also be about chemistry, popularity, and how well two actors work together on screen. it has never been strictly about romantic couples only. one example i remember clearly is ‘kill me, heal me’, where ji sung and park seojoon literally won best couple award despite not being a romantic pairing in the show.

it’s honestly so tiring seeing every achievement DT get being reduced to whether their series is a BL or not. as if their chemistry, acting, and popularity suddenly don’t count just because their series isn’t labelled as a BL.

i’d understand the outrage if they won COTY at a Y-series or BL-specific award show, but this is a GENERAL award show. the award wasn’t even part of a BL-specific category. why are we suddenly acting like only official BL couples are allowed to win the award?

the award was also decided by a panel of judges. it wasn’t a paid voting or anything of the sort. we genuinely thought they were there as special guests because we didn’t have to do anything leading up to the award show, no voting no nothing. we only knew they were attending and we were surprised ourselves to see them bag the award.

and at this point, you’re not even criticising anymore. you’re just hating for the sake of hating. some of you spend more time talking about people you dislike than the people you supposedly like and support.

i’m genuinely so fucking exhausted of this. if you hate our boys and us so much, then stop investing so much time keeping up with us. goodness gracious, please go and find something better to do with your life. go out. touch grass. drink some water.

i think people are forgetting the fact that the word 'couple' can be used loosely, and it's not like maya awards' jury promised an on-screen (queer/het) couple to win the outstanding couple of the year awards. so, i'm afraid this whole outrage about dewtee getting it is not only unnecessary but uncalled for.

in fact we don't even know how the jury came to this conclusion, so why does dewtee had to deal with the 'backlash' from the award?

fyi this “outstanding couple of the year” award is NOT a voting one its 100% based on JUDGES, all category listed is the paid voting one but not this one which make it much more meaningful but you keyboard warrior ruined it… for who blame it on fans because vote for ‘bromance’ instead of ‘bl’ without knowing anything like perhaps should not we as FANS need to vote for our fave one? no? but when it’s comes to this one, we literally have zero negative power because this category is not even in voting list and they are not nominated in any of it. during the speech, dew clearly said “thanks to judges” and on post-award tee also said they didn’t prepare anything at all. so please mind what are you saying here and can we just be kind because every artist put their effort and hardwork on everything they did. shooting until late night, not even get an enough sleep also bring a heavy character not an easy thing, sometimes accidentally bring it in real life too. if judges said yes then yes its not wrong for a bromance pair get a couple award because pair still a pair. THEY DESERVE THIS AWARD.
