NEW HOME SALES: Sales of newly built single-family homes slid 4.5% in January to an annual rate of 801,000. The median sales price of new houses sold in January 2022 was $423,300. The average sales price was $496,900. | #realestate #homesales #homeprices #economy

The price of softwood #lumber has increased nearly 45% since September. Rising prices are one problem, but volatility is another. Between 1947 and 2019, the monthly change in the price of lumber averaged 0.3%. Since January 2020, it has averaged 12%. https://t.co/DKHuJ4YYT4

Sales of new single‐family homes increased 14% in September to an annual rate of 800,000. That pace is 17.6% lower than the pace in September 2020. The median sales price of new houses sold in September 2021 was $408,800, up from $401,500 in August. | #realestate #homesales
