A Croatia Airlines Airbus A220-300 aircraft (9A-CAN) bound for Frankfurt via Flight OU412, veered off the runway during a rejected take-off at Split Airport of Croatia, and came to a halt in a grassy area next to the runway.
The aircraft, that reached a maximum speed of 131 knots, sustained damage, but 132 passengers and crew onboard are safe, with no injuries.
The aircraft hit a marker board and runway edge lights as aviation authorities started investigating the incident.

Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-343 evacuated at Kathmandu Airport after a fire broke out in its landing gear upon arrival from Istanbul.
All 277 passengers and 11 crew arriving from Istanbul were evacuated using the emergency exits following the fire, and nobody was injured, Gyanendra Bhul, a Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal spokesperson said.
Turkish Airlines said smoke was observed in the landing gear while taxiing, and technical inspections had been initiated. "Initial assessments indicate that the smoke was caused by a technical malfunction in a hydraulic pipe," Yahya Ustun, the airline's senior vice president, communications, said on social media platform X.

A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta made an emergency landing Friday at LAX after a reported engine fire, officials said.
The Boeing 767 engine caught fire shortly after takeoff around 2 p.m. Video from the ground captured the flames coming out from one of the engines. The flight landed safely after returning to the LAX runway.
The FAA is investigating the incident, according to Delta Air Lines. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
