"You Get What You Give" was basically a solo project disguised as a band. Gregg Alexander (singer, songwriter and producer) recorded almost the entire album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too (1998) alone, playing most of the instruments and doing all the lead vocals. The track became the only major hit for the New Radicals.
Released as a single in 1998, the song reached #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was very successful on alternative radio and in several countries. The iconic ending of the song ("Beck, Hanson, Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson You're all fakes") It generated a lot of controversy at the time. Several artists cited were angry, but Gregg Alexander explained that it was not a personal attack, it was a criticism of the materialism and superficiality of the music industry.
Gregg Alexander dissolved the New Radicals soon after success and completely disappeared from the spotlight. He never released anything again as a solo artist or in a band. After disappearing from the stage, he became a high-level behind-the-scenes composer and producer. His works include tracks for Ronan Keating ("Life Is a Rollercoaster"), Santana with Michelle Branch ("The Game of Love"), Enrique Iglesias and The Script.
We have the bizarre situation where a Muslim Home Secretary is threatening a white British man with the โfull force of the lawโ for trying to prevent immigrants - mostly young Muslim men - from entering the UK illegally.
Convince me weโve not been taken over.
@UKLabour Really? Your police force just let 5 terrorists walk free this afternoon, putting the general public in serious danger. No one trusts Labour to have the best interests of the British public at heart.
@jim8oy If they were freeing homes up for British families, I'd be for it but you know they are going to take those homes and use them as a replacement for the migrant hotels.
@ShabanaMahmood Excellent, we don't have enough housing for British Citizens as it is but you are happily inviting more foreigners onto our shores, even when the general public are against the idea of Immigration and have voted for closed borders!
Andy Burnham says when people are "causing fear and intimidation in communities" by covering their faces you "have to prevent them doing that"
The people who are causing fear and intimidation in our communities are unvetted illegal migrants.
The man is completely out of touch
In the last 24 hours of two-tier Britain, the Prime Minister risked prejudicing Danny Tommoโs court case by calling him a โracistโ. Heโs been denied bail.
Meanwhile, the 5 RAF base terror suspects have been released on bail despite a โmajor incidentโ being declared, and Burnham is refusing to comment.
It looks insane on the face of it.
