A pleasure to host Commissioner @MartaKosEU in Prishtina today in her first visit to Kosova.
Kosova is the most reliable partner in the EU accession process, with one of the highest levels of public support for EU membership in the region and beyond. I shared with Commissioner Kos Kosova's democratic progress, economic growth, and advancements in EU reforms. I appreciate her dedication to our region and her commitment to a merit-based enlargement process with EU values at the center.
41 months after we applied for EU membership, it is time for Kosova to receive its candidate status and open the accession negotiations. The EU accession process will further consolidate Kosova's democracy, increase economic growth, and improve the well-being of our citizens which is a shared goal and a mutual interest.
In the framework of the 8th EPC summit in Yerevan, I had a productive bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia 🇦🇲@NikolPashinyan.
We discussed numerous topics of common interest related to global ongoing issues, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation at the European level.
In thanking the Armenian government for the kind hospitality, we agreed on the need to further develop the relations, and increase the bilateral coordination and collaboration in areas of joint interest.
I look forward to meeting again and welcoming him in Prishtina.
The Republic of Kosova is committed to EU and NATO membership. The renewed momentum of enlargement for both NATO and the EU require unity of engagement towards Kosova. The EU needs to deliver on the EU candidate status and opening of accession negotiations and NATO must strengthen its southeastern flank with Kosova's membership.
This is the message we conveyed in a series of important and fruitful meetings on the sidelines of the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan, in discussions with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, EU HR/VP Kaja Kallas, and other world leaders, including those from countries with which we aim to establish diplomatic relations, such as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and our host, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
At the summit, I also had the honor of speaking as part of two panels: “European Coalition Against Drugs” and “Reinforcing Democratic Resilience and Addressing Hybrid Threats.”
I welcome the introduction of the bipartisan resolution in the US House of Representatives in support of Kosova’s membership in @NATO, and I thank Congressmen @RepKeithSelf, @RepRitchie, and @RepMikeLawler for their support and steady commitment to security in the Western Balkans. Kosova is ready to contribute to the security of the region and of the transatlantic community. 🇽🇰 🇺🇸
I sat down with @elperiodico in Barcelona to discuss why Spain should recognize Kosova, our path toward the European Union, which is supported by over 90% of our population, and other key issues.

In the past few days, Kosova has once again received two very encouraging rankings. Sweden’s V-Dem Institute has positioned the country firmly among electoral democracies, the only one in the WB6 alongside Montenegro. Additionally, @Gallup's World Happiness Report has ranked Kosova 16th in the world, marking a significant rise from 29th place last year. This is an encouraging acknowledgment of the vitality of the country’s democracy and the prosperity it is experiencing.
Congratulations to António José Seguro on his election victory in Portugal. We look forward to working closely together as we advance on our path toward EU integration and further strengthen a long-standing relationship with significant potential for economic, political, and cultural cooperation.
Productive meeting with Commissioner @MartaKosEU in @Davos. Kosova is the top performer in the Western Balkans on democracy, rule of law and EU reforms. I underlined that Kosova deserves candidate status and that membership in the EU is a priority.
Hosted a working lunch today @houseofkosova_ in @Davos with Estonia’s Minister of Economy and Industry, @ErkkiKeldo. We discussed our shared security outlook, support for our Euro-Atlantic integration, and cooperation in digital services, innovation, infrastructure, and energy.
It was a pleasure to meet with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, @LucFrieden, on the margins of @Davos. We discussed the economic and democratic progress of Kosova, as well as opportunities to expand innovation through various exchanges between our two countries. We are very grateful for the longstanding friendship we share with Luxembourg and look forward to even closer ties.
A pleasure to welcome to @houseofkosova_ Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy; Acting Minister of Finance; and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investments of the State of Kuwait. In a positive and productive meeting, I thanked Minister al-Mukhaizeem for Kuwait's strong and continuing support for Kosova's economic progress and international recognition.
A key focus was also our Government's ambitious plans for our upcoming mandate. Specifically, we discussed a number of investment opportunities of potential interest for the State of Kuwait and Kuwaiti businesses, including in energy, railways, stadiums, and water reservoirs.
An honor and pleasure to be invited to the USA House @Davos for an enlightening discussion on faith and leadership in the context of the 250th anniversary of American independence. I spoke of faith as the backbone of service, struggle, and social unity, from my time as a political prisoner and prisoner of war in Serbia to my current role as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova.
I took part in a discussion with Oxford economist Carl-Benedikt Frey (@carlbfrey), moderated by @BradStaples, CEO of APCO, at the House of Kosova on the margins of @Davos. We discussed leadership in times of unprecedented technological change and the right approach to harnessing the current evolution of technology, drawing on relevant economic theory and history, Kosova’s opportunities in network-building, and reflections on what the future may hold.
I sat with @RoryStewartUK today at the House of Kosova in Davos and on the margins of @Davos, kicking off the first of the panels that we are holding at the House this year. We discussed Kosova, governance and security issues more broadly, and I had the pleasure to welcome Rory to our House.
For the second year in a row, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, the House of Kosova provides a space for dialogue on key topics including artificial intelligence, innovation, and long-term development.
Upon arriving in Davos, I had the great pleasure of meeting Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu (@MSidhuLiberal) at the House of Kosova. We discussed ways to strengthen trade relations across several fields, including the ICT sector and the mining industry. Canada has been a long-time ally of Kosova, and we are grateful for its contributions to our country and look forward to even stronger ties.
Yesterday, I welcomed EU Special Representative Peter Sørensen for our first meeting following Kosova’s December elections.
Kosova remains committed to full normalization and constructive dialogue in Brussels. Meaningful progress requires good faith, including the withdrawal of the letter submitted by former Serbian Prime Minister Brnabic to the EEAS and the surrender of Milan Radoicic and his group to face justice in Kosova for the Banjska paramilitary and terrorist attack, as well as the signing of the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohër/Ohrid Implementation Annex as legal guarantees for the path ahead.
Kosova has a refreshed democratic mandate which ensures credible representation in the dialogue.
Exciting years ahead for KEK, as it starts/continues investments of €500M to:
✅️📈capacities of TPPs by 150MW & lifespan by 20+ yrs
✅️install filters to 📉pollution
✅️diversify w/ 100MW ☀️
Grateful to management & BoD, & @EUKosovo for financial support on the latter two.
Yesterday, the people of Kosova once again granted us a resounding mandate. It is always an honor to earn the trust of the people, particularly when it comes after serving the first full term in the country's history. We would like to thank everyone who exercised their right to vote, as well as all those who contributed to ensuring that the electoral process was free, fair, and conducted without incident. We are grateful for the international support throughout this process, from the European Union, individual countries, and international organizations, who continue to support Kosova’s democratic progress. A special thank you to our sister parties and the broader progressive movement, as we commit to building societies where the dignity and well-being of the people are at the center. Kosova’s future is prosperous and firmly oriented toward the European Union.
