They are loanwords, not another language. You are giving Egyptians too much credit, bro, we're notoriously bad at speaking multiple languages 😭

So, if a lot of Egyptians use these borrowed words and other Egyptians understand them, then they are incorporated in our language.

@punicafides_ @oliveegirl Yeah, the Egyptian language is actually very distantly related to Arabic (kind of like how, for example, Italian & Russian are related) so they have a few similar words.

In the Coptic script, it's written "ⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ" ("móut") which is almost the exact same as Arabic "موت".
