HDPO conducted a drama-based awareness session in Doka Village, Western Galabat in Al Gedaref State, this week, reaching 200 community members with messages on environmental protection, renewable energy & sustainable resource management.

Implemented by HDPO and partner and support with @IOMSudan and funded by the @UNPeacebuilding
Representatives from UNDP, UNHCR & IOM attended the session alongside international visitors from the SDC delegation.

HDPO conducted DRR awareness sessions across 20 villages in Eastern and Western Galabat Al Gedaref state, engaging 50 participants (community leaders, youth, farmers & pastoralists) to strengthen natural resource management & conflict mitigation. Implemented with @IOMSudan and funded by @UNPeacebuilding .

Sessions highlighted links between environmental stress & local conflict, promoting sustainable land & water use and early warning approaches.

HDPO conducted a market assessment & FGDs across 20 villages in Western & Eastern Galabat Al Gedaref state, engaging communities to identify suitable fuel-efficient stoves.

Findings show high reliance on firewood, smoke exposure, and growing environmental pressure, with strong demand for cleaner, efficient cooking solutions. Implemented with @iom_sudan Sudan and funded by The @UNPeacebuilding .

Communities highlighted links between deforestation & conflict, while market analysis identified opportunities for local production & awareness campaigns.

HDPO, in partnership with @IOMSudan & funded by the @u_affairs , handed over 2 safe spaces for women & children in Mellit Locality, North Darfur on 25 March 2026 — at Al-Marabee Area & Al-Abbasi (B) IDP Camp.

Each space was fully equipped with chairs, mats, sports equipment, toys, whiteboards, books, pencils, handwashing facilities & soap — all documented through signed handover records. Community leaders, neighborhood committees & CBPN members attended the ceremony.

Safe spaces like these protect dignity, enable learning, and restore hope for displaced women and children in Sudan. 💙

HDPO launched the distribution of 350 dignity kits for vulnerable women and girls across IDP camps and vulnerable host communities in Mellit, North Darfur.

📦 On 11 Mar 2026, 83 kits were distributed at Al-Abbasi (B) IDP Camp (50 to IDPs, 33 to vulnerable host community families). Distribution will also reach Al-Wahda, Al-Thanawiya, and Al-Guba.

HDPO implemented household water treatment & hygiene promotion activities in Bamna, North Darfur in February 2026 , strengthening community prevention of waterborne diseases.
Implemented with @ReliefIntl and funded by @StateDept /BHA.

💧 The activity included refresher training for the Bamna Water Committee, practical demonstrations on correct chlorine dosage and safe handling, and distribution of chlorine to 50 households with on-site guidance on safe water storage and use.

HDPO conducted community-based MUAC screening for children 6–59 months and IYCF awareness sessions in Bamna, North Darfur on 4 Feb 2026.

Supporting early identification of malnutrition and improved infant and young child feeding practices.
Implemented with @ReliefIntl and funded by @StateDept , USAID/BHA.

👩‍🍼 130 women (mothers & pregnant women) reached with key IYCF messages. Identified cases were classified and referred in line with nutrition protocols.

Community Nutrition Volunteers were equipped with MUAC tools and forms to continue screening and awareness activities for 2 months.

HDPO conducted Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) training and delivered essential medical supplies in Bamna, North Darfur on 4 Feb 2026, strengthening community-based primary healthcare for children under five in hard-to-reach areas.

Implemented by HDPO with @ReliefIntl and funded by @StateDept ,BHA.

👥 2 Community Health Workers were trained and equipped to assess, treat, and refer cases of malaria, diarrhea, and pneumonia using standard ICCM protocols. Services are now actively being delivered at community level, with strengthened referral links to Bamna Health Center.
