What's that menacingly shambling toward us from the distance? Ah, it's just my latest video, a look at some cancelled and rumored game systems from the mid 1990s! Learn about the Konami and Taito systems we never got!

@games_rozz Ha I forgot they put it on the Sega CD compilation (With like.. Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi), but (understandably) it was literally the cartridge port. I would have likely bought a Sega CD unit just for that game, had they released it properly.
@St1ka@AliceBreckwith Both games were really strong, I can see the argument for either. MD version for me just because the presentation was so lovingly crafted.
@games_rozz But more importantly they just made it REALLY fun. I was surprised how much depth/how many tracks they squeezed into that thing. It kind of made up for the relatively softer presentation. Also, that soundtrack (all the SFX actually)
@games_rozz I remember hoping-against-hope that they were somehow going to magically nail the outrageous presentation of the arcade. It was a mix - they skipped all the scaling BG graphics, of course, but overall the game really was a looker, considering.
I'd like to thank everyone who taunted me with "the PS2 looks blurry" and pushed to pursue true 640x480p graphics on the PS2.
Here's how it looks in PCSX2 software mode.
Real hardware video soon. 😎
@matthewhenzel@myretrolifeshow Interesting. I still have yet to play a PSVR2/PS5 but that is encouraging to hear that there have been steady (enough?) releases for the platform. I am still interested to get my hands on it for GT if nothing else, at some point.
GUNDHARA - JUUDAN ARASHI for arcade (Banpresto/1995) is a top-down run-and-gun game similar to classic titles like Mercs and Shock Troopers.
A unique mechanic for the game is a melee kick button that allows you to knock out enemies and deflect enemy bullets.
It never received home console ports. The title translates to Bullet Storm Gundhara.
@SEGAotaku - Invents time-travel technology
- Uses it only to acquire interesting, esoteric Japanese video game console
I have heard of weirder proposals, I suppose..
@SEGAotaku Agreed. They came from an above-average design for the original SMS, knocked it out of the park with the Genesis/MD console, and then follow up with.. this? Felt like a slap in the face, I have always hated this design. Sega should have known better.

Total Recall time!
Rob Bottin on The Venetian Head.
The full headpiece was extremely heavy. So massive that Arnold couldn’t lift or wear it himself. For the demonstration and filming, it was hydraulically lifted into position behind him.
