@shobbrook_jo Schools are in an invidious position trying to protect staff/pupils, and the culture of teacher-blaming is long-established by governments and factions within MSM; September guidance is loose, arguably reckless - and as you say, no budget for additional supply.
@julianjmorgan1@lucyjoannamorg1 My first Head of Department used to send me hand-written (it was pre-email) motivational Bowie lyrics most days during my NQT year. Daft, but it helped and I remembered. This tweet 'took me back', so thank you. The perfect cure, you might say.
@branwenjeffreys The tip of a considerable iceberg; possible Covid measures in schools if numbers escalate, tension with unions created by pay freeze/inflation, additional NI costs for schools/trusts, and much more. Tough gig.
@bioharrison@DevizesSchool@julianjmorgan1 They are working door-to-door in Trowbridge, and are certainly pushy. Part of sales pitch was photos of local families (named!) who had signed up. Not for me.
@MichaelRosenYes Thank you, @MichaelRosenYes , for all you do to inspire readers everywhere. You're a big favourite here, among staff and pupils alike.
@Feargal_Sharkey Feargal, we met many years ago at a CLA event and your passion for clean water was impressive, inspiring. It certainly helped shape my thinking as a trout nut. Thank you for what you are doing.
@tweetbytheriver@Adam_Higton@joinsteadyEN I'm proud to have joined the shoal this weekend, and have some exciting adventures planned for my enamel badge already. Still my favourite corner of the internet x
Very proud of Year 6, who were a credit to the school at this weekend's camp, and who are in this morning ready to learn (and some were up very late watching football). We Are Rowde!
I suspect there will be some late bedtimes this evening, and a sleepy school in the morning. If it goes to penalties, I may add nap time to the school curriculum. And that's just the staff.
@Apple_Supply I have worked in secondaries where they became a significant problem, but good sense/consistency resolved it; not difficult. Bigger things to focus on strategically right now, and a chance to look at the why/when/how of education. Time for some vision!
