Doubtful. People are easy to pay off and vote 'no'. In our society, justice and/or freedom in important matters is reserved for the wealthy. In fact, it probably always was. But Luigi still achieved his goal and sacrificed his life for it. It's a reminder for the elite that no matter how powerful you are, even you can become a target when you deny justice to the poor.

Women should vote on inherently female issues. Men should vote on inherently male issues. That is equality. Men have no business voting on pregnancy even if they are the father. Male business starts when the child is born - to provide for the woman and their child, to set a good example for the kid and be protective about it if the woman has issues during the motherhood role (like postpartum depression, personality disorders and so on).

In my country, about 95% of people voted 'no' in an annonymous poll that asked if they'd be okay with having a gay neighbor. People have preferences and it doesn't mean they want to destroy all LGBT. If you care about justice and freedom, you'll let people freely express what they feel no matter how uncomfortable it is to you as long as those people are not violating your rights.
