🚨 We wrapped up 'SIMULATING GOVERNANCE' a int workshop on regulating health data in Sub-Saharan Africa in Nairobi. From AI diagnostics to telehealth, we tested what it means to govern across borders, tech & trust gaps -centering people, equity & innovation.

Using #Uganda as a case study, we explored the development & implementation of Digital Health Guidelines.
Participants mapped oversight institutions in their countries & reflected on governance experiences.
Last week, I attended the 27th #AMCOA2025 hosted by the #UMDPC. The conference brought together delegates from Africa.
I led the training of delegates from #EAC about digital health governance approaches in the region - Very Insightful!

The workshop has been organized by the Faculty of Business and Management Science, University of Nairobi, in collaboration with There us no App for this!
Dates: 5th - 7th August 2025 at the University of Nairobi.
This face-to-face expert event will provide an opportunity for attendees to share their experiences and receive feedback on the regulation of Digital technology used to address the health challenges facing the global south. The workshop will additionally look at what has not been addressed in complementary ethical and regulatory risks associated with digital technology and more so in regards to data migration across transnational jurisdictions. Ultimately, the event will allow us to generate the best case principles for digital regulatory sandboxes for us in developing countries.
