Schools with experienced but expensive teachers. Budgets can’t sustain them. Pay/Pension grants not covering costs. UPS can’t move on as schools can’t afford them. Promotions seem fewer because schools are having to cut leadership and many posts going to internal candidates.
@Headteacherchat Our provider pulled out as it wasn’t financially viable for them to run breakfast club and they couldn’t get the staff. We run it now and I wouldn’t say it’s easy, but it makes more financial sense.
@Headteacherchat If I went into a head’s office and it wasn’t full of children’s artwork and things to make the children comfortable I’d be worried. I am primary though. Perhaps that makes a difference?
@PieCorbett@MichaelRosenYes@PeterThomas1607 I sometimes have an odd thought and wonder what would happen if half the money currently going to sports premium was earmarked instead for books - or for the arts in general.
@thosethatcan I am a HT and was going to work until 60, I’m currently 55. Realisation that things can’t get better in that time has led to me taking early retirement. In my opinion, it will take years before we feel the effects of any positive changes.
