Surely this post won't help the situation when the guy already feels unwanted. Sharing the justification for your gaslighting would likely make the situation worse, unless this is a fake click bait post.

You say the no should be enough and not carry emotional baggage, but this wasn't the first no. There was likely dozens of no's, being unavailable, or just forgetting about your partner beforehand. So one no to you, when it may have been no 20 to him. So the weight after the rejection is larger. Then add to it that men feel demasculinated when rejected like that especially by their partner and the one no turns into all night asking yourself "am I a good man that's worthy of my wife" and "does my wife respect me" "am I worth being respected and desired".

I would be having a deeper conversation with my partner right now, not gas lighting, and probably seeking marriage counseling if this is how you typically handle conflict by asked the world to get involved instead of working it out privately.

We did not expect people to take the game this seriously, getting rage mail because they can't get to the top of the leaderboard for the last achievement.

Achievement is for the oldest rock and you must have the game open longer than everyone else, with 41 days as current top.
