Yesterday, I brought up a critical issue to @POTUS. We have got to break the back of the massive meatpacking monopoly and open things up so local ranchers can actually process and pack their own meat. Predictably, the media didn't hesitate to make wild claims, accusing me of wanting "poisoned beef." Nobody wants that! We just want common-sense regulation.

@caroljsroth joined me to break down the real reason for the pushback against cutting red tape:

"This has really been a long-term push by big corporations to consolidate power, because it's much easier if you are a lobbyist or a politician to go get money and support from one big entity than from thousands of independent-minded small businesses.

We're not talking about regulations that would have beef be poisoned, but just simple things to be able to open and operate... We need to get rid of all of the red tape, the regulation, and the total grift so small businesses can thrive."

A couple of days ago, somebody sent me a tip in my DMs about two North Carolina PACs.

So I went down the rabbit hole.

Here’s what I found. 👇🏼

Two North Carolina PACs — the Muslim American Public Affairs Council (MAPAC) and the NC Indian-American PAC — are soliciting donations online to “support candidates.”

But here’s where it gets interesting:

The online donation forms I verified don’t ask donors to certify that they’re U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.

That’s not exactly a small detail when you’re talking about political contributions.

And one of these organizations takes it a step further. It describes itself as a 501(c)(3) and says donations are tax-deductible — while also being registered as a political committee and openly supporting candidates.

Ummm…

Pretty sure that deserves some questions.

Federal law prohibits foreign nationals from contributing money to U.S. elections, and political committees have compliance obligations for accepting contributions.

So when you have political organizations soliciting money online without an obvious citizenship certification — and one apparently advertising tax-deductible donations while operating as a political committee — I think North Carolinians have every right to ask what, exactly, is going on.

Maybe there’s an explanation.

If there is, I’d love to hear it.

Because this isn’t about whether I like these organizations, their candidates, or their politics.

It’s about the rules.

North Carolina elections belong to North Carolina voters.

If you want to play in our political system, you should have to follow the same rules everybody else does.

Transparency isn't optional.

And neither is compliance.

Funny how with all the teaching on Grace being a covering for sin; no minister ever engages in sin and has their ministry go up.

If Grace was a covering for sin & failure, what use would a sinless , faultless Christ have had for it?

Grace is not a covering for sin. It is an EMPOWERMENT to live in dominion over sin.

When you engage in sin you are making a choice to step out of grace.

I’ll never forget my first trip home to run supplies after Hurricane Helene.

Most areas were still without cell service. The road through Sandy Mush was washed out in places heading over the ridge—crumbled, falling straight into the valley below. We crossed it to deliver supplies anyway. Clyde looked like a scene out of an apocalyptic movie. My hometown mayor, Zeb Smathers, had his work boots on and was carrying 50 lb bags of dog food at the donation center.

When I finally made my way into the arms of my family, they looked like they hadn’t showered in days. They were tired and worked to the bone from helping their neighbors and church. My family, who’d seen so much devastation, weren’t sitting around waiting. They were putting in the work.

The second trip was worse. That’s the first time I went to Swannanoa after the storm. The road wasn’t just washed away; it was gone. Businesses had slipped off the riverbank into the river. Stuffed animals hung in trees. And the smell? I have nightmares about it.

That was the same trip when I saw families in tents—I stopped and gave them gift cards.

When I wasn’t home in the mountains, I was glued to X, sharing all the information I could. That was my life for months: posting hourly updates, directing supplies, coordinating with volunteers. From the time I woke up until I went to bed, I lived and breathed Hurricane Helene.

I did that because I am a hillbilly.

During all of that, I took note of how little attention the media paid to the biggest disaster Appalachia has probably ever seen. I noticed the way hillbilly victims were villainized by journalists. I watched my governor drag his feet and our president send billions to Ukraine while my people were hurting.

Those of us who spoke up were accused of grifting, lying, spreading propaganda.

But my fellow hillbillies know the truth. Want to hear it straight from the source?

A new teacher has been hired at Apex’s Middle Creek Elementary School by Principal Sarah Stephens, whose dissertation was titled “Equity-Focused School Improvement.”

The teacher? “Aria” Canon Derrick.

That’s right. Aria is a “nonbinary” man. His music students will be forced to address him as “Ms.”

Even worse? Parents weren’t notified. Those who don’t know will find out tonight when they’re blindsided at the teacher Meet and Greet.

It gets even better: Principal Stephens is refusing to reply to concerned parents’ emails.
