Pottery is my new creative hobby. These are my first hand pottery pieces. The insides are hallow and just big enough for tea lights.

Today is a day to remember those lost and also all the people who gave themselves physically or mentally during search and rescue and clean up and the years since protecting the nation from a repeat.

Grandparents are awesome, but they also remind us how long and yet how short life is. I'm 34 and no longer have any grandparents. Neither does my husband. Cherish them while they are here.

If you can't give to a cause, consider doing something with your time. It can be as simple as asking a mom if you can watch her kids for a few hours so she can do something for herself or even just take a nap.
