Let’s dwell on the Narcissist. These are the ones who traumatize the avoidant. First they come with love bombing, they says sweet things, validate you, make you like them so much, very charming, charismatic, the avoidant falls hard but then..

They do something wrong, the avoidant being an emotion avoider, can’t bring it up so they shut down, the narcissist being a master manipulator turns it around on them “you’re in your mood again” “I’ve done something again yea, cos I can’t do anything right” gaslights, plays victim, and when that doesn’t work, resorts to the first play, sweet words, gifts, etc

The sad part is, the avoidant isn’t happy, but they’d rather stay in this relationship where growth or emotional reciprocation isn’t expected, they’d rather be the person feeling this way than having their shame revealed by the anxious person and this is why an avoidant will never be a good partner, they hate themselves so much, they’d rather be mistreated than vulnerable, it’s crazy
