@celedrielism I'd like to add, after writing thread after thread last season over how I didn't like the way Elrond treated her...I agree with you. I am so ready for this season to be different and see Galadriel be fully loved and supported and treated better than she was last season.

@celedrielism If the statement was "she should be humbled" I might feel similarly. But it isn't what was said. They didn't say she should be or that she would be, they said she already has been by her role in inadvertantly helping Sauron. And that is the reality of the situation.

Galadriel being "brought low" is another step in her story, it isn't the final destination. And it's certainly not where her husband, who loves her, would want her to stay. He'll be far more instrumental to her rising back up, than the abuser who put her there to begin with.

@elfbotanist When the reveal happens and she realizes the truth of who he is, that he's not the safe space she thought he was. She was vulnerable and her reward was betrayal. So yeah, I don't want her to settle down and play homemaker, but I DO want her to get that sense of safety back.

We see throughout the first season that she struggles with vulnerability. That she spoke so rarely of Celeborn being gone is not a sign of how little it mattered to her. If anything it is the opposite.

we didn’t have this whole scene of Galadriel going from lit up to heartbroken while recounting her meeting with Celeborn and him disappearing for anyone to tell us the pain of his loss was never underlying her actions and decisions. it was aaalways there

@elfbotanist When he responds without judgement, it sows the seeds of her thinking that maybe Halbrand can be a safe space to her. She starts to feel trusting toward him, even to the point of admitting that she feels something between them that she wishes she could bind herself to.

galadriel’s been stuck in this unforgiving limbo of the absence of celeborn looming over everything, the situation never stops UNTIL she finds him. it bleeds into every single aspect of her life. this doesn’t belittle her, this shows how deeply she loves.

Could someone direct me to where it's been stated by any of the actors, writers, or show runners in any way that Celeborn's reunion with Galadriel will humble her?

The only mention I've seen thus far of her being humbled in any way was in relation to Sauron outmaneuvering her.

Even knowing that she and Aragorn would share the same fate, as she had accepted mortality, Arwen lived only a year after his death.

Galadriel chose to keep going. Focusing on her grief over Finrod, was the safer choice that would allow her to keep fighting.

@SimonBoudreau2 This is the moment she tells Theo that she never saw her husband again. The look in her eyes - to me - is one of profound sadness. For an elf the loss of a mate leaves such a deep wound I can understand her locking that part of herself away and barely speaking of it.

Sometimes, in fact, often two things can both be true at the same time. She can be the way she is because of profoundly deep grief over the loss of her brother AND her husband.

And as far as how Morfydd feels about Celeborn's return, I'll just leave this right here-

yeah so this isn't it. we've been told for TWO seasons that the reason galadriel is the way she is, is because of vengeance and grief over her dead brother. THAT'S why she had a "descent". not because her husband was away. really misogynistic. i don't wonder why miv wasn't there.
