Anato Finnstark is a French illustrator specializing in dark fantasy, horror, and concept art. She is self-taught and began working professionally after developing her technique for years. She has worked on Magic: The Gathering, The Lord of the Rings, Berserk, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and The Witcher, as well as creating the cover art for Bleed Out by Within Temptation. @AnatoFinnstark

The production was especially demanding because Bakshi’s team had to carefully trace and stylize the live-action footage frame by frame. Frazetta’s paintings and character designs served as the visual foundation, while the animators translated his distinctive fantasy aesthetic into every scene. The result was a rare meeting of Frazetta’s art and Bakshi’s animation—a dark, violent fantasy film that remains one of the most visually distinctive animated movies of the 1980 🔥❄️

Fire and Ice (1983) was created through a unique combination of live-action reference and hand-drawn animation. Ted Nasmith is a Canadian illustrator best known for his extensive work inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien.
