HEDA's Compendium Publication Uncovering Nigeria's Corruption Landscape

In December 2025, HEDA Resource Centre unveiled its latest, 9th edition compendium of the 100 high-profile corruption cases in Nigeria!

For us at HEDA, researching, documenting, and publishing this compendium has remained a remarkable achievement in the face of threats and harassment.

As a civil society organization, it is primarily pertinent for the public to understand and interrogate why cases get delayed in courts. It is our belief that stakeholders in the dispensation of criminal justice, especially in corruption and financial crime cases, are also due for scrutiny and accountability.

Effective action against corruption requires more than the efforts of individual institutions. It requires stronger coordination, cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders working towards a shared goal.

As Prof. Abdullahi Shehu emphasized in his keynote presentation, institutions must move beyond working in isolation and embrace mutual support to achieve meaningful progress.

From shell companies and property deals to cross-border transactions, following the trail can get complicated.

Today, HEDA Resource Centre, in collaboration with PPLAAF, is bringing stakeholders together in Abuja for a practical conversation on Strengthening Anti-Corruption Capacity & Asset Tracing Frameworks in Nigeria.

The session will bring together people working across anti-corruption, financial intelligence, law enforcement, civil society, the media, and related fields to share ideas and experiences on how Nigeria can strengthen asset tracing and recovery efforts.
