Thank you so much for this ❤️🩹
But my goal has already been reached at £2000
Anything in addition is purely out kindness, I am so incredibly grateful 🥹
For England-born Heidi Katrina, Japan became far more than a wrestling destination - it became home.
The defining chapter of her career came with Sendai Girls', brought in personally by Meiko Satomura after catching her work in DDT. Katrina went on to become the first foreign wrestler to win a Sendai Girls title, adding tag gold alongside Cassandra Miyagi - a first for a gaijin in that promotion. It placed her among the most significant Western wrestlers to truly live within joshi wrestling during that time period, rather than passing through for occasional guest dates.
Her connection to Japan ran deeper than the ring. Katrina is deeply attached to Shenmue, an innovative video game series famously left unfinished.
The "British Amazon" was still active on the European scene as recently as last year. Sadly, two rare and serious health conditions have since led to her hospitalisation, and she's currently working to raise £4,000 (approx $5,300) to fund treatment.
Just like how so many people desire for Shenmue to have the ending it deserves, we hope that Katrina enjoys a similar end to her in-ring career.
We'll be sharing the donation link below. We are sending Heidi all our best wishes for her recovery.
