The referee put 9 seconds on the clock. But NBC’s clock went from 0:09 to 0:08 immediately upon the snap, indicating that either NBC’s clock was off and/or the clock was between 0:08.99 to 0:08.00 while it showed 0:08 on your screen…

Which means the clock you saw on TV was between 0:00.99 and 0:00.00 while it showed 0:00.

Unfortunately, I’m now somewhat confident Michigan deserved the extra play 😭

Used Astra to sync two camera angles, check the visible stadium-clock ticks, and examine the first touch frame by frame.

Both possible frames when the ball was first touched leave time remaining. Even using the latest possible frame & shifting the sync one frame against Michigan leaves about 0.03 seconds on the clock..
