Link to the 2026 Nevermore Horror Film Fesitval. I think most of my friends have fled to Bluesky but I still haven’t gotten the hang of that one yet. For anyone else still here: https://t.co/2CEJoePBje
Reviving my dead account briefly to give a shoutout to Katherine Dudas’ film “Theater is Dead” and the Nevermore Film Festival. This was the best full length feature I’ve ever seen there, and genuinely one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while.
@CarolinaDurham Online option is mostly limited to the Shorts, and obviously going to the actual theater is better, but at least I now have the coming week to see all the things the 1120Ses and 1065s will make me miss!
Today I woke up to a picture of a street in Ashkelon that I used to walk down regularly on the front page of CNN, aflame and littered with burned-out cars.
I've been stunned. As a sense-making exercise for myself, here's a brief 🧵with some thoughts on what this means:
Hamas's attack and the events unfolding since yesterday are unspeakable. We could talk about their cruel and criminal actions, or focus on how our Jewish-supremacist govt brought us to this point. But as former Israeli soldiers, our job is to talk about what we were sent to do

@KolaBoof3 I loved it so, so much. The opening, the bond between Angela and her dad, the focus on HIM rather than the other girl/family. I almost expected Angela to save her friend at the end, but I think that would have been too much.

I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours.
Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.
"Stressed beyond her limits and overwhelmed after illegal police raids on her home and the Marion County Record newspaper Friday, 98-year-old newspaper co-owner Joan Meyer, otherwise in good health for her age, collapsed Saturday and died at her home."

People are like, “This is barbaric! What country do we live in?” The United States. One of the most barbaric, racist, cruel, unequal, unhealthy, carceral, militarized, human-rights abusing societies in the world. American Exceptionalism is a sickness keeping us from getting well.
