I'm here to speak into the void, everything else is incidental. If I help someone along the way, cool beans. Read A Treatsy on Efficacy, learn to strip a rifle without looking, balance the metaphysical with touching grass.
@TheBuddyCSM Prior to my last assignment, I had never considered it. But, yea, even if you don't go into that specific job you should do it. Just seeing the cultural differences between a lifer and civvies is invaluable. The culture shock is real and only gets worse the longer you stay in.
@ardan_blade Just remember what your dad would have done: blindside Comstar and take a meat tenderizer to the Capellans.
Jokes aside, prayers are a given. Hope you thread the needle
@infantrydort You didn't see this much pre Vietnam because they shipped everybody home together (mostly). You had a couple months of travel and demob with your buddies to talk it out.
Mid tour leave and the like, you're by yourself with all that crazy and no one to talk it out with.
The neat thing about the Tuareg is they kept up decorating their very functional weapons, much like some of the Afghans I met. This saber has been cleaned once in 80 years. It didn't need sharpening. Ask the English, French, Italians, and Russians how effective they are.
@Ganglosaxonnne@Thedorgy It's a useful drain on Russian resources. Ukrainians attack it every so often, Russians have to restrict what material crosses and divert defensive systems that could be used elsewhere
