If people assume Latin is elitist and restrict it to Letitia environs then they prove themselves right. It’s boring. I’ve never had an issue getting all demographics interested in Latin (former school teacher and Classics Outreach Officer turned lecturer and disability advisor)
@AidanTheJester Tell us where that is and will turn up with a brass band. Generally people don’t stay stuff like that to 30 people carrying large brass instruments. (And we raise loads of money for the band and local charities)
The sadness of Bacchylides.
This time last year, I went to Kea, home of Simonides and his nephew Bacchylides. I’ve always had a soft spot for Bacch, and had never been to Kea before. Simonides has a monument in town. No mention of his nephew.

@Robin_C_Douglas Well there were trans kids in the 90s, and 80s and 70s (and 50s etc) and some of them are my friends, now trans adults. Well done for talking about this honestly, and glad you feel ok in yourself now.
