#HeBees Community Beekeepers - Helix Beekeepers - an organisation of trained volunteers promoting #beekeeping & helping all #bees within the Falkirk area.
@Fraggle_Chick If you have a wee film or video of them, we can probably help you identify them.
You most likely have tree bumblebees, but still, there’s a very slim chance they are honey bees.
Hanging on this borage flower is a red-tailed worker bumblebee! Borage is a great food source for bumblebees later in the season as it can flower through the summer into the autumn.

Dear councils, Please reduce needless over-mowing of our public spaces, green corners and roadverges, and avoid weedkillers and pesticides! Less work, fossil fuel use, cost. More wildlife, wildflowers, insects. 🐝

Twitter is FULL of beautiful leaf-cutter images! I took this one a few years back of a female Patchwork Leaf-cutter bee (Megachile centuncularis). Look at the pollen she's collected. It's dusty, so falls off quite easily as she forages, making her an awesomely good #pollinator.

#BumblesoftheWorld would not be complete without delving into the darker side of #bumblebee life, and so this month features one of around 30 described parasitic #cuckoo bumblebees, the Red-tailed cuckoo (Bombus rupestris). https://t.co/RXAyKFMhMJ
