⏰ One week until our webinar, “You already have half a credit program,” with FinWise Bank, Datos Insights and NXTMOVES.

If you run a debit program, you already own the credential, the spend history and the card operations that credit builds on.

On October 29 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET, we’ll cover what it takes to move from debit into credit:

✅ What you can reuse from your debit program

✅ Who funds the loans, and where sponsor banks participate

✅ How interchange, interest and fees build a path to profitability

✅ How to sequence your launch, one stage at a time

The partnership will combine Bakkt’s regulated digital asset and settlement infrastructure with Thredd’s AI-first issuer processing platform and integrated credit capabilities.

AI is changing the front end of commerce, and #stablecoins are changing the back end.

Put the two together and you get what Ryan Dew, our Chief Product Officer, calls programmable #commerce, where payments start to move at the speed of computers.

That was how Ryan opened yesterday's webinar, 'When the agent pays: Identity, trust and fraud in agent-initiated payments'. He then asked experts from Visa, #Zilch, and Velocity what is overhyped about agentic payments and what is genuinely new.

Over the rest of the session, the panel covered how to govern what agents are allowed to do, which rails they should run on, who pays when something goes wrong, and how to spot suspicious activity.

🤖💳 What happens when the customer making a payment is an #AIagent?

At the Payments Innovation Forum AI & #Agentic #Payments Forum, Nuruz Zaman took to the stage to explore how agentic commerce could reshape card issuance and what issuers need to prepare for now.

A few weeks on, the conversation continues to gather pace. Watch a snippet from his keynote below. 👇

💳 Card networks were built around a single moment: approve or decline. The most interesting credit innovation happening right now lives around that decision.

@pymnts Intelligence research with Thredd identifies three points in a purchase where credit can be applied.

1. Before the purchase, as a pre-approved line tied to a specific merchant or use case.

2. During the purchase, as one funding option among several on a single card, letting the same card draw from debit, a credit line, rewards points or a buy now, pay later plan.

3. After the purchase, once it's already cleared, letting a customer decide whether to pay it off or split it into instalments.

What's it actually costing you to stay on a legacy platform?

For most institutions, the answer is 70-80% of the IT budget spent just keeping the current system running. That leaves less than 20% for anything new.

Modernised institutions are on a different track. They report 2.5x higher revenue growth and get new products to market 50% faster.

The gap between those two positions widens every year the migration doesn't happen.

See how Thredd makes migrations invisible, get the full playbook → https://t.co/9CMTa0ZD1C
