@SamJRushworth The problem here is the original tweet. Don’t deflect
“is really silly. It’s 9% of your pay rise not 100%. Always worth earning more”.
Any normal person reads this and suspects youre saying students turning down pay rises are silly you never questioned the accuracy of the data

@quetzalcoa14@SamJRushworth Clearly reading differently to you. Yes people may turn down jobs and the student loan repayments are an influence. That doesn’t necessarily mean the motivation was “i don’t want to pay back the loan”. It could be the increased payments make the return not worthwhile.
@quetzalcoa14@SamJRushworth Happy to be wrong here mate, if you can send any proof of these stats would be interesting to see.
I have plan 2 and a postgrad loan myself, and I wouldn’t personally reject any promotions.
I do understand others are not in my situation and can see why it could not make sense.

@holybulll Okay thank you for explaining. I do hope Townend didn’t feel anything.
The GN has been a brutal viewing the last 4 years. If it turns out the leading jockey in the sport knew his horse was injured and rode to the finish anyway, and we get a similar GN, would be a bad look
