This list is by no means exhaustive, but it covers most of the sins the churches were warned against by the apostles.

We got this list from verses where the Apostles listed works of the flesh like:

Romans 1:29-3
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Galatians 5:19-22
Ephesians 5:3-5
Colossians 3:5-9

Believers must do away with the works of the flesh. Why? They defile us. It is not the will of God for us:

1 Thess. 4:3

"It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality."

And we must do the will of God, this is how we have eternal life:

1 John 2:17

"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever."

This is why the believer is charged to cast off sin because as Jesus was, so we must walk:

1 John 2:6

"Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did."

Jesus lived without sin, we must cast off our sins too if we hope to be found in Him when He returns.

May the Lord keep you clean till the day of your glorification. Amen.
