Today I visited @LifeLink256 Hospital in Ntinda. I knew someone there who knows sign language, so I had hope that communication would be easier.

When it was time to see the doctor.. I went alone, he started speaking (with masks on), so I signed that I am Deaf. To my surprise, he responded in sign language 😊 I was shocked and happy at the same time. I immediately felt more relaxed because communication wouldn't be so difficult.

His sign language is still basic and he's still learning, but he signed things like "abdominal pain" and "headache." For the signs he didn't know, I taught him a few. It became a two-way learning experience.

It reminded me that healthcare workers don't have to be fluent in sign language to make a difference. Learning even the basics can help Deaf patients feel seen, respected, and included. Small efforts can have a big impact.

A big thank you to the doctor for making the effort to learn sign language. It may seem like a small step, but it made a big difference to my experience today. 👏🏽

The most certain thing in life now is expenditure. Be it health, education, food, shelter etc

The most uncertain in Uganda for example is earning.

Therefore, protecting earning must be a priority at all costs.

Uganda collects around ushs 32 trillion in taxes annually, our expenditure 2026/2027 is close to ushs 85 trillion.

If you are knowledgeable, that’s a position all of us fight against.

Inflation is caused by the Federal government spending more than it earns, because they just print more money to make up the difference.

To solve inflation, reduce wasteful government spending. Your tax dollars should be spent well, not poorly.
