“All grown up now. I should be thanking you too, if you didn’t risk yourself to save me and pull me back, I wouldn’t be here now.”
Adora loved hearing Catra purr, especially when she was the one responsible for it, under all that toughness is still a cute kitty.
“Well, at one point yeah. Not anymore though, I know better now. You have a fair point though. I did almost definitely you guys while leading the Horde.”
Catra replied with a soft chuckle before a purr started to come from her thanks to the scratches, tail waving behind her.
“Did what friends do, really think I leave you behind? Your strong, you be able to but lucky won’t have to find out.”
Adora moved a hand to scratch behind Catra’s ear as she held her close. She will always keep Catra safe.
“For everything. I…don’t think I could survive in this world without you.”
Catra softly spoke, face buried in the crook of the other’s neck while they embraced. There was no safer place in the universe than in Adora’s arms.
“Yeah…yeah I know.”
Catra replied before letting out a deep breath, wrapping her arms around Adora and holding herself close to the blonde as she nuzzled into their neck.
“Thank you, Adora.”
“I know.. but that’s not you anymore, you’ve changed and I’m proud of you, even know it took you a while to come around.”
Adora was the same, those weren’t something she would want to remember either
“Well yeah, I know that NOW. But back then I was more…impulsive and not very mentally stable.”
Catra didn’t like looking back on all of the stuff she had done. There were…so many bad things she did.
“Not always so menacing.”
Adora smiled when she saw the flush on Catra’s cheeks, she always thought she looked cute when she blushed
“I never abandoned you, I just realised what we was doing was wrong and no one could ever replace you, been friends for way to long.”
“Yeah…I-I guess.”
Catra couldn’t help the small flush that came to her freckled cheeks.
“Also the reason why I lashed out when I thought you were abandoning me for princesses.”
“Oh yeah? That’s why you got jealous when someone was getting to close to me. Took all this time to admit out loud.”
Adora knew Catra well enough to know she was speaking the truth, they loved each even before they know what it meant.
“Tch, as if. Even when we were enemies, I didn’t know my friends were even friends until it was too late and I pushed them away, one way or another. I always had you in my sights anyways.”
Catra spoke truthfully. She did say she always loved Adora, even if she didn’t know it.
“Nope, not even a little, only liked them in a friendship way. What about you? You was pretty close to some.”
Adora teased back, she was the master but Adora can dish it back.
“Really? C’mon, you can’t tell me you didn’t like any other girls even a little bit.”
Catra teased, definitely being the master at teasing Adora at this point.
Adora smirked at the feline.
“You always say that.”
A blush was now across Adora’s cheeks, she was bracing herself for the kiss that didn’t happen, feeling a hand across her mouth instead.
“Mmph.”
Catra just glared at the taller woman before sighing.
“You’re hopeless.”
The feline said before leaning up like she was going to kiss Adora, before clamping her hand over the other’s mouth at the last second.
“Shut.”
