Our role is to protect farmers from external geopolitical shocks. We cannot allow rising fertiliser and fuel prices to add undue pressure.
This was the key message of the EPP Agriculture Ministers’ meeting, which focused on long-term solutions for the sector.
And we’re off! The EPP Group Study Days in Rome have officially started.
Special thanks to @HerbertDorfmann, @fulviomartuscie, @marcofalconect, and the whole Italian delegation of the EPP Group who welcomed us here today.
Today in the AGRI Committee we’re discussing the EU beekeeping sector. Bees are crucial for our food security & much of Europe’s agriculture relies on them. I am hoping for a strong debate on real alternatives that can support farmers, cut pesticide use & protect bee health._
Fruitful exchange with MEPs @MEPDanielBuda and @HerbertDorfmann on Food and Feed Safety Omnibus and animal health.
We also discussed how to improve our work on animal welfare and ensure fair competition on the 🇪🇺market.
The @EPPGroup has long stood for stronger, fairer support for farmers. Today’s meeting on the NRPPs is a first step toward the next MFF. The MFF must serve European goals, not national wish lists.
Farmers cannot do more with less. Investing in agriculture is investing in Europe!
16 July was a day of deep disappointment. Despite @Europarl_EN clear ‘NO’ to a single-fund approach, the @EU_Commission came back with a weaker #CAP budget, fake “flexibility” & an incoherent architecture. One euro can’t finance 3 policies. @HerbertDorfmann
On Wednesday, the @EU_Commission will finally come forward with a set of reforms aimed at simplifying the EU’s Common Agriculture Policy.
"It is high time to cut the red tape, reduce burdens, and let farmers get on with their job," says @HerbertDorfmann MEP.

Good news in the Commission’s #WinePackage bringing clear rules & new opportunities for winemakers: better labelling, targeted action against overproduction & less red tape for a sustainable #wine sector. @CHansenEU
MEP @HerbertDorfmann says the big step forward @CHansenEU took with this Vision for Agriculture is:
"To understand that agriculture needs to be productive, sustainable and consider young people."

Pleased to exchange with the S&D and Renew AGRI working groups & MEPs @HerbertDorfmann@peterliese@norbertlins@clergeau Marko Vešligaj over the past 2 days in Strasbourg, continuing my commitment to engage closely with the 🇪🇺 Parliament on challenges facing the agri-food sector
Today, the updated protection status of wolves takes effect! A crucial step after years of EPP Group pressure to balance conservation with protecting farmers, tourism & rural communities. Now, the EU must follow suit. ✅ #WolfManagement#RuralEurope
¡Bienvenido a El Salvador, @HerbertDorfmann, co vicepresidente del Componente Europeo! Un gusto recibirlo para continuar trabajando en el desarrollo de la Mesa Directiva de EUROLAT.🇸🇻🇪🇺
The @EU_Commission's farmer-focused Vision for Agriculture offers a fresh, comprehensive, and modern approach to tackling the #agrifood sector’s challenges. We're committed to making this Vision a reality for European #farmers 🇪🇺. @CHansenEU
