$TSLA
my parents bought a tesla model 3 and there's nothing else like it.
the most astonishing capability is self-driving. their tesla can drive them from their driveway to their destination, including parking in a busy parking lot, without disengaging once.
comparing Tesla's self-driving to other automakers is like comparing an iPhone 17 to one of those grey brick phones from the 80s. it's kind of embarrassing.
a week before they bought the tesla, my dad told me he didn't think he'd be driving much longer since he's pretty old. the tesla just extended his independence by years.
feeling grateful for all tesla has done.
@VRDesktop Could you please give an example of the performance? What kind of improvement could a user expect eg how much lower encoding ms on a typical setup with a modern Nvidia GPU?
@JLCollinsNH Hi JL,
IMO, AI and Robotics are about to reshape the global economy much more than what you are considering here. That's the only thing investors should be thinking about at this point. US and China will be the driving forces.
I think @xai is creating an AI KVM.
It'll be a hardware device that sits on your desk and can control your computer using display input and keyboard/mouse output. It will work with everything, and it will be unstoppable.
Macrohard is amusingly the perfect name @elonmusk
@tsunamods Because it adds to the experience. Having voices just makes the games *better*. This is also why Square have been adding voices to their recent remasters (FFT, Fantasian, etc), it's an enjoyable value add.
@ParadiseDecay@CDPROJEKTRED You mean Luke Ross's greed? Now multiple times the IP owners are telling him he can't do what he's doing, but he chose to keep making money from his mods. Since he said there was a legal exchange, I even assume they gave him a chance to make the mod free, and he declined...
@BeardoBenjoYT@MuffinzCat Indeed, it does seem a bit half baked for that use case, even the resolution isn't quite enough for flat imo. But I'm glad they made this particular trade-off to include eye tracking, I'll happily continue playing flat games on my TV with higher PPD and OLED and VRR and HDR.
@BeardoBenjoYT@MuffinzCat Of course it was a consideration, I think they just couldn't make it work with the chip they went with. They went with something more powerful and affordable than the standard Qualcomm XR, but also wanted to include 2 eye tracking cameras. Tradeoffs had to be made.
Tell your friends that the Model Y has more interior storage space and is roomier than the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX5, Honda CR-V, VW Tiaguan, or whatever other mass market mid-size SUV they’re going to screw up and buy over the Y.
Every single time I tell people this they look at me in disbelief. People don’t understand it. The others sit higher and have their designs dictated by their ICE drivetrain. They look bigger from the outside but are smaller on the inside. If you don’t pay attention to Tesla and haven’t ever been in a Y, you probably think it’s not even competing with the cars I’ve mentioned. But it actually delivers more utility. The interior volume is larger.
Almost nobody buying a RAV4 cares that it has slightly more ground clearance or a slightly larger opening in the back. Many of these buyers just don’t even register that the Y offers everything they want the RAV for and more (lol pun).
If everyone fully understood what the Y offers, I guarantee a huge percentage of them would opt for it that are still buying its ICE “competitors.”
