We are halfway through the year, and there is often pressure that comes with that marker. Pressure to measure progress, to compare timelines, to feel like we should be further along than we are.
But life does not move in straight lines, and neither do we.

Happening Tomorrow !
We are pleased to share that our Director of Programs will be facilitating a training session on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) tomorrow at Uganda Christian University, A Centre of Excellence in the Heart of Africa
Hello June. 🌸
A new month, a fresh start, and a reminder that everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and free to be themselves.
May we continue creating spaces where authenticity is celebrated, diversity is embraced, and every voice matters, both online and offline.

Being online all the time can be exhausting. Somewhere along the way, constant availability became normal, we scroll while eating, reply while resting, and lose hours online without noticing.
If any of these signs feel familiar, this is your reminder to take a digital detox.
We need institutions that understand digital violence and respond to survivors with care, urgency, and justice.
Survivors of #TFGBV deserve protection and dignity both offline and online, not blame for the harm they experience.
#EndTFGBV
Womxn experience #TFGBV differently depending on their realities, identities or access. That means digital safety interventions cannot be one-size-fits-all.
Communities most affected must be part of designing the solutions, policies, & response mechanisms meant to protect them.
A lot of people move from one screen to another without ever getting a real pause.
From work screens to phone screens to TV screens, then somehow the brain is expected to stay calm after consuming everybody’s opinions, bad news, hot takes and notifications all day. 🧐

@HerInternet Today’s digital training with Her Internet and our amazing coach Sandra reminded us that cybersecurity is no longer optional
it’s a life skill. In a world where we live, learn, and work online, protecting our data means protecting our future.
As we continue to embrace technology, we must also demand accountability, stronger protections, and survivor-centered responses. Silence enables violence collective action can end it.
The internet should be a space for expression, connection not fear.

As technology continues to shape how we connect, learn, and participate in society, it is equally important to ensure that digital spaces remain safe, inclusive, and free from violence especially for women, girls, and marginalized communities.
At Citizen Advancement Initiative, we recognize that Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence is a growing challenge that threatens participation, expression, and equal access in the digital space.
Addressing it requires collective action through stronger policies, digital literacy, accountability from tech platforms, and survivor-centered support systems.
We appreciate Her Internet for creating a platform that brings together stakeholders, advocates, and experts to address the urgent issue of Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence and advance conversations around safer, more inclusive digital spaces for all.
Technology should empower, not silence.
Inclusion, safety, and justice must remain at the center of digital innovation.
