Picture this: In 2005, a guy walks into a 7/11 to grab a snack. On his way to the register, he spots a pack of Topps Chrome for $3, buys it, and walks outside. He rips it immediately in the parking lot before he even makes it to his car.

Inside that pack was the LeBron James Superfractor. A 1 of 1. The only one on the planet!

He had no clue what he was holding. Nobody would have in that moment. It was 2005, LeBron was fresh out of high school, and the Superfractor concept had literally just been introduced that year.

Four titles, four MVPs, every scoring record you can name, two decades of being the most talked about player on the planet — LeBron turned himself into a legend. Years passed, and that little gold card quietly became worth more and more money.

In 2020, it finally hit @HeritageAuction — it drew 53 bids and sold for three times the estimate. Final number: $720,000. From a pack that cost $3. From a 7/11. From a guy who went in for a snack and almost certainly had no idea what he was doing when he grabbed it off the counter.
