Craig Harris of @12News in Arizona has beclowned himself again with his anti-school choice bias, citing "experts" who make broad claims about the ESA that run counter to the data from the AZ Dept of Education @azedschools.

It doesn’t make sense to regulate a market the same way we regulate a monopoly.
Imposing a single test only makes sense if there’s one right way to teach, we know what it is, we know the test actually tests it, and the political incentives are aligned to keep it that way. None of those assumptions obtain.
BREAKING: The anti-ESA ballot initiative in Arizona is DEAD.
The Arizona Supreme Court upheld the lower court decision. The AEA union/@arizona_sos initiative failed to get enough signatures to go on the ballot.
Big win for Arizona families!
We need to wait for the state supreme court before we celebrate, but this is a very important development.
Thanks to @ClarkRimsza@AZlovesESAs@iheartmyschool@azfec & @GoldwaterInst for all their hard work to make this happen!
Douthat’s response was facetious, but I unironically endorse having parents vote by proxy for their children until they turn 18. America would be a better country.
The Florida State Board of Education adopted new teacher prep standards incorporating the principles of the Phoenix Declaration.
Board Chair @rpetty calls it “an important first step in...better preparing educators to meet the needs of every student.”

Thanks to the tireless work of @AZlovesESAs, there’s real reason to hope that AZ's trailblazing school choice program will continue to give every family in AZ the freedom to choose the education that works best for their child. 18/18

In one case, the petition circulator hired by the union-backed campaign was a level 3 sex offender—the highest level of sex offender in Arizona, reserved for those “with a high risk of another sex crime.” 10/

The complaint details how union-backed signature gatherers had been convicted of crimes such as manslaughter, attempted murder, kidnapping, human trafficking, arson, stalking, burglary, assault, welfare fraud, credit card forgery, drug dealing, etc. 9/

School choice is under assault in Arizona, but the teachers union's effort might fail because they relied on felons convicted of heinous crimes—including manslaughter, kidnapping, human trafficking & sexual abuse of a minor—to do their dirty work. 🧵
