Imaginative Tool of the Week: Role Play. This semester I changed things up from a traditional novel study and explored #erebos from a Detective lens. Much more engagement in the novel from all learners when they have investment in the book! #imaginEd#IE#studentengagement
Our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragic events at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver. The Surrey Board of Education stands with our Filipino-Canadian students, staff, families, and the entire community during this difficult time. We are committed to providing support as we grieve and heal together.
Heroic Classroom now teaches #highschool Tool of the Month: #changeofcontext Students wrote persuasive essays: Grades are Useless based on #ungrading You would think grade 8/9 students would take this a sign to coast. Nope! Incredible engagement! #ImaginEd Excited for #IE in HS!
The final post in my series The Spark and the Fade is live. Letting go of the pressure to finish everything and learning to see value even in the things we never “did something” with.

Some ideas light me up like I’ve just discovered my life’s purpose.

This is the start of a little series about that very specific magic—and how I’m learning to let it count anyway. #adhdwriter#adhd#ideas https://t.co/hgy3JJDEpb
@MrZachG I'm curious about your opinion on this, as I respect your understanding of cognitive load. What if the learning targets and success criteria are sequenced into something like the image below over the course of a unit of study, or even just a week or something?
@Dean_of_math I was just having this very conversation this morning with my fellow teacher husband and my 2 neurodivergent teens. I have been at this career for such a long time and assessment continues to be my number 1 struggle. Short of changing the entire system….
@andrewshtulman I think you would be interested in Dr. Kieran Egan's work on #imagination. Socio-cultural perspective. Arguably the most comprehensive educational theory and practice designed to grow imagination. #imaginED https://t.co/yoQJ5CWPLO
